Child Protection Awareness

Overview: To Provide an awareness and understanding of Issues relating to the Protection of Vulnerable Children. 

Outcome: By the end of the course participants will have gained knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding the Protection of Vulnerable Children. Participants will be able to identify the four categories of abuse, the physical and emotional indicators and have a chance to discuss how they would respond to a disclosure of abuse. They will also gain an understanding of the key principles of report writing.

Topics Covered: The Children Act 1989, Definition and Categories of Abuse, Predictive Factors of Physical Abuse, Safe Working Guidance, Responding to Disclosure, Helplines and Publications.
