Q: What is an Diploma?
A: Diploma’s are qualifications achieved through training and
assessment. This is done through observation and
questioning whilst carrying out your work. Candidates
will build a portfolio of evidence to prove their competence.
Units will be signed off when successfully completed to
prove learners knowledge, understanding and performance.
Q: What is Work Based Learning?
A: This means your assessor will come to your workplace to
assess and observe you in the work you do to put together
a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence.
Q: Where will I study?
A: Within the workplace and at home.
Q: Is there funding available?
A: Many programmes of study can access funding from the
Skills Funding Agency, details of this can be obtained by
contacting us.
Q: How long will a Diploma take?
A: This can vary from 8 to 10 months depending on which qualification you undertake.
Q: Is there an exam?
A: No, Assessment is done via your portfolio and performance observation carried out by your assessor.
Q: Will I get a certificate once I have Completed?
A: Yes, once successful completion and verification has been
achieved a certificate will be applied for from the
examining body.
Q: What if I change my employer?
A: As long as your employer is willing, and it is within our
abilities, you can continue with your qualification within
your new workplace.
Q: Can I fail?
A: No, if you do not have enough or the correct evidence,
your assessor will guide you to find additional or
different evidence in order to support your claim of
competence.
Q: Is there a time limit for completion?
A: Yes, but as long as candidates work with their assessor,
they will ensure completion before the time limit has
occurred.
Q: Is there an age restriction for undertaking a Diploma?
A: No, Diploma’s are accessible to everybody, age is no barrier.
